About This Data

All economic indices displayed on ThePlotMetrics are sourced from the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database maintained by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. We convert raw index values to real-dollar estimates using a baseline index of 240.0 (approximate pre-pandemic 2019 softwood lumber PPI average).

Our goal is to provide U.S. gardeners and builders with actionable, transparent market data to make informed purchasing decisions. All datasets include full attribution and downloadable CSV exports.
